West Park is delighted to have Napa's newest celebrity, Miss Napa County 2011, Ashley Mendez attend the WPE school carnival, Saturday, May 21st. Come on out and meet her in person, and get an autograph! Ms. Mendez is 23 years old, and a Sonoma State University senior. In addition to winning the crown in 2011 she received $550 in scholarship money and will compete for the title of Miss California this summer. Her talent is singing the song "These Boots are Made for Walking", and her platform is Big Brothers Big Sisters: Advocating for Youth Through Mentoring. Ms. Mendez's scholastic/career ambition is to obtain a PhD in clinical psychology and have her own practice as a psychologist. Here are some other interesting facts: She has obtained three AA degrees in psychology, natural science & mathematics, social & behavioral sciences, acquired a certificate in integrative studies of women and gender, CNA, CPR is Heimlich maneuver certified, and...she doesn't know how to whistle!
